Cherry Tree Academy is consulting on a proposal to reduce its Planned Admission Number (PAN) from 45 to 30 pupils per year group, effective from the 2026/2027 academic year. This proposal is driven by several factors, including the current and forecasted pupil numbers, which consistently fall below the existing PAN, reflecting a broader trend of declining birth rates in the area. Admissions update (September 2024):

Our Published Admission Number (PAN) for Reception remains 45 until September 2026 when it will reduce to 30. This means that we are committed to admitting up to 45 in the normal admissions round, in line with statutory requirements.

However, due to variable pupil numbers across year groups, we have needed to structure our classes to ensure effective learning, high-quality provision, and the efficient use of resources.

As a result, we carefully consider individual applications in line with our PAN, the School Admissions Code, and our capacity to maintain a sustainable learning environment.

At present, many year groups are at capacity based on available resources, and additional admissions may only be possible where space is available. If you wish to enquire about admissions, in-year transfers, or our waiting list, please contact the school office at 01924 967603.
