Cherry Tree Academy, in conjunction with Waterton Academy Trust, is committed to the wellbeing of all our staff and ensuring that we promote a culture of well-being throughout all areas of school life.
We recognise each individual as one person, with unique talents and gifts which are celebrated by all. Our Staff Well-being Charter is underpinned by our core values and recognition that staff are CTA’s greatest asset.
As an organisation, we understand the importance of prioritising the mental health, well-being, work-life balance and resilience of all our staff to benefit them on an individual, personal level, as an educational professional as well as our organisation.
It is understood by the Senior Leaders and the Governing Body that all staff have commitments outside their working lives which can also impact on wellbeing.
Developing our Charter with the staff, for all the staff, ensures wellbeing is integrated and embedded into all practices and areas of school life, creating a positive environment where all staff feel the sense of value and belonging and promotes staff engagement, performance and achievement within our school family.
All staff are treated fairly, equally and professionally at all times.

Education Staff Wellbeing Charter
The education staff wellbeing charter is a declaration of support for, and set of commitments to, the wellbeing and mental health of everyone working in education.
Cherry Tree Academy has signed up to the charter, as a shared commitment to protect, promote and enhance the wellbeing of our staff.
Signing up to the charter is our public commitment to actively promoting mental health and wellbeing through policy and practice at CTA. The Governors and Senior Leaders, at CTA, are dedicated to improving and protecting the wellbeing of all our staff.

Waterton Academy Trust Counselling Provision
At Waterton Academy Trust, we invest heavily in our colleagues ensuring that everyone benefits from being part of the Waterton family.
We all have mental health and, just like physical health, it needs looking after. Sometimes this need is heightened and Waterton recognises that our employees may require additional support from time-to-time. Promoting well-being is an integral part of Waterton’s people strategy.
In order to support our well-being strategy and to make positive changes for employee mental health, Waterton has an additional route for colleagues to access high quality, independent and professional counselling.
